Most BonFeu fireplaces and fire pits come with extras such as a grill grate or a wok ring. But for all these fireplaces and fire pits, we have also developed the BonFeu Plancha. The Plancha is made of 3 mm thick steel and is suitable for grilling the most delicious foods.

The BonFeu Plancha comes in three sizes; one suitable for the BonGiano’s, BonTino, and BonCarré (Ø 40cm), one for the BonVes 34 (Ø 45cm), and one for the BonVes 45 (Ø 55cm). It is very easy to install, user-friendly, and offers a perfect working height for grilling.

What is a plancha?

A plancha is a flat, metal griddle that is very popular in Spanish and French cuisine. It is traditionally heated over an open fire or on a gas burner and provides a large, evenly heated surface for cooking.

Here are the main features and benefits of a plancha:

• Material: Often made of cast iron, stainless steel, or enameled steel, which ensures even heat distribution.
• Form: A large, flat cooking surface with slightly raised edges to prevent liquids from running off.
• Heat source: Can be powered by gas, electricity, or an open fire.

Using a Plancha:

• Even heat distribution: Thanks to the large, flat surface, heat is distributed evenly, allowing food to cook uniformly.
• High temperatures: A plancha can reach very high temperatures, which is ideal for searing meat and vegetables to create a nice crust.
• Versatility: It's excellent for a wide variety of foods, including meat, fish, seafood, vegetables, and even fruit. The plancha can also be used for frying eggs or preparing pancakes.
• Low-fat cooking: Thanks to the high temperatures and the smooth surface, less oil is needed, leading to healthier meals.
• Easy cleaning: Since the plancha has a smooth surface, it is easy to clean after use. Food residues can be easily scraped off or wiped away with a damp cloth.
• Outdoor and Indoor: A plancha can be used both outdoors (e.g., for barbecuing) and indoors, making it a versatile kitchen tool.
• Flavor retention: Because food is cooked directly on the hot surface, it retains its natural flavors better and develops a more intense taste.

Summary:

A plancha is a versatile and efficient cooking surface characterized by even heat distribution and high temperatures. It is suitable for a variety of cooking techniques and foods, offers a low-fat cooking method, and is easy to clean. These advantages make the plancha a valuable tool for both home cooks and professional kitchens.
