Frequently Asked Questions about Carports

A width of at least 3 meters is considered ideal. This way, you can get out comfortably without hitting the posts with your car door.

Yes, that is possible. We offer combined solutions where a device shed for bicycles or tires is directly integrated into the carport design. Subsequent roof extensions for weather-protected rooms are also feasible.

Yes, we offer more stable custom-made carports that are manufactured according to your specific wishes. These are not currently listed in the online shop but are available upon request.

In Switzerland, a building permit with a formal building application is almost always required for a carport. This is due to the size and height of the additional structure. The process includes filling out municipal forms, sketches, and plotting it on the cadastral map.

Building site fences are common in Switzerland and show neighbors the planned height and width of the structure. This serves to inform about property line setbacks, shading, or potential obstructions of view.

As we are not a planning or architectural firm, we do not offer direct support with building permits. However, private clients can usually manage this process well independently, as plans can also be submitted as hand-drawn sketches.

Our standard models have a roof load capacity of 80 kg per square meter. Our custom-made models are sturdier and designed for a snow load of approximately 100 kg per square meter.

Standard models are not suitable for retrofitting with solar modules. Solar modules can only be installed on more stable, custom-made carports that have a higher load-bearing capacity.

Yes, the roof is absolutely waterproof. However, condensation can occasionally form, which is caused by temperature differences and is completely normal.

We exclusively supply durable aluminum structures with roofs made of sandwich panels or solid specialty material.

Aluminum is significantly more durable than wood as it does not rot. While wooden carports require regular maintenance, an aluminum structure should last at least 25 years.

We offer a 5-year warranty on our aluminum carports.

We recommend at least point foundations or strip foundations. A continuous concrete slab is ideal since cars will be regularly driven over the area.

Yes, an EV charging station can easily be installed on any post. Ideally, the cable pathways are prepared within the post during installation.

The rainwater is drained via at least two posts. It is common to create a slope towards the driveway. The water can either be directed into the sewer system or infiltrate on the property (e.g., via permeable paving).
